Instagram Introduces New “Trial” Option for Reels Creators to Test Content Performance
[[REWRITTEN]]
Instagram has unveiled a new feature called “Trial” for Reels creators to assess the performance of their content with a sample audience before sharing it with their followers. This feature allows creators to get feedback on new genres, storytelling formats, or topics without the fear of it not resonating with their audience. The trial Reels are initially shown to non-followers and can be accessed in the drafts section of the creator’s profile. After 24 hours, creators can view key engagement metrics such as views, likes, comments, and shares to determine the success of their trial. If the trial Reel performs well, creators have the option to share it with everyone or let Instagram automatically share it with followers. On the other hand, if the trial Reel underperforms, creators can choose to discard it without affecting their established audience.
This experimental option aims to help Reels creators understand what works best on the platform while expanding their reach to different groups. The feature is currently being rolled out to selected creators and will be available globally in the coming weeks, offering creators a valuable tool to optimize their content performance on Instagram.
