Instagram’s Romantic Valentine’s Day Features
If you’re feeling romantic this Valentine’s Day, then Instagram’s got some new features for you, with a range of Valentine’s activations in the app to help spruce up your DMs and Stories.
First off, Instagram’s added some new effects for Notes, which will be displayed on any Note that includes specific Valentine’s related terms, including “vday”, “ily,” “pookie” and more.
As you can see in this example, if you add a note that includes any of the chosen romance-related terms, you’ll get a special background and effect within the Notes display in the app.
Instagram’s also adding themed fonts and text effects, including a custom display when tagging friends in Stories.
Instagram’s also adding some new chat themes for the occasion, including “Love,” “Sweetheart” and “Candy Hearts”:
There’s also a range of Valentine’s inspired, creator-submitted Stories templates to encourage engagement, while IG’s also added a new Vinyl Music Sticker that enables users to add a song to their Stories that’ll “play” within the display.
“If you give the sticker a scratch, you’ll see a heart effect appear (iOS only)”
So aside from being a little romantic, it’s also interactive, which could add an extra level of interest.
Finally, Instagram’s also adding an effect in DMs which will present the recipient with an animation for DMs including certain terms.
“Tap the magnifying glass before you hit send; or, give your friends and your crush a nickname in the DMs (note: these features will be available past V-Day)”
These are some fun additions, which could help you participate in Valentine’s Day, or just have some fun with friends.
And while not everyone will be a fan of so much pink, it could be another way to show your significant other that you care this week.
