Meta has filed a new legal action opposing the FTC’s restrictions on its use of user data in ad targeting, specifically relating to teen users.

The FTC filed a motion last May to extend the 2019 settlement with Meta, which fined the company $5 billion for data privacy violations, to include new provisions preventing Meta from profiting off data collected from users under 18 and implementing restrictions on facial recognition technology.
