Instagram recently clarified the impact of posting Reels over 90 seconds in a post on the Instagram Creators profile. While longer clips can be posted on IG, they won’t be recommended in Explore or Reels Tab, affecting distribution and reach. Instagram’s research shows that users prefer shorter clips, hence the focus on shorter Reels in recommendations.
