Instagram Takes Action Against Bullying with New School Partnership Program
[[REWRITTEN]]
Instagram is partnering directly with schools and teachers to address bullying through its new School Partnership Program. The program, developed in collaboration with the International Society for Technology in Education and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, aims to help educators report potential teen safety issues, including bullying, to Instagram. This initiative is part of Instagram’s efforts to create a safer online environment for teenagers and provide additional support to parents and educators.
Instagram has also introduced Teen Accounts, a feature designed to give parents peace of mind by providing built-in protections that limit unwanted contact, inappropriate content, and cyberbullying on the platform. The School Partnership Program will allow schools to report safety concerns directly to Instagram, ensuring that reports are prioritized and addressed promptly. Schools that enroll in the program will receive educational resources to help students, parents, and guardians navigate Instagram safely. Additionally, school partners will be identified with a profile banner, showcasing their official partnership with Instagram.
By partnering with schools and educators, Instagram aims to empower communities to address online safety issues and create a positive digital culture in educational settings. Schools in the US can sign up for the School Partnerships Program waitlist through Instagram settings, demonstrating a commitment to promoting youth safety and well-being online.
