Choose the correct tool
The member Viral Predictor and the public planning worksheet serve different purposes. A worksheet helps organise a hypothesis. A member prediction uses the information available to that tool and requires the access shown in your account.
Look at the reasons
Treat an estimate as a prompt to inspect the hook, topic, format and fit with your audience. Check for missing or stale inputs before comparing predictions. A model can be wrong, and a precise-looking number does not remove uncertainty.
Evaluate after publishing
Record the estimate and compare it with an appropriate post-age baseline later. Consider the sample size and external factors before deciding the model was useful. No prediction guarantees virality, and it cannot reveal Instagram’s private ranking rules.
