How the TikTok side works

The comment exchange

The comment exchange is the one TikTok exchange open today. A creator matched to your follower bracket and subject opens your video in the TikTok app, watches it, and writes a comment about it by hand. One point buys 5 comments, the same as on Instagram, and no more than 15 can be written by one account in a day.

A written comment is the highest-intent action on the board and the most visible one: it sits under your video where anyone scrolling past can read it. It also carries the most risk if done badly, which is why it is one of only two exchanges with a cap of its own, and the tighter of the two.

Why comments shipped first

Four TikTok exchanges were written and tested together. One is open. That was a choice, and the reasoning is worth stating because the alternative looked more impressive.

A comment is the only one of the four whose delivery is plainly visible to the person who ordered it. It sits under the video with a name attached, where the creator who spent points can read it and judge whether it was worth anything. A watch, a save and a profile visit all have to be taken partly on trust.

Shipping the most accountable action first is a deliberately harder start. It is also the only order that lets a creator decide whether the thing works before being asked to believe in the parts that are harder to see.

The other three are built and held for a member vote. Each member gets one vote, the standings are public, and the vote decides which opens next rather than the order they happened to be written in.

What a comment costs, both ways

To receive: one point buys 5 comments. That is Instagram's rate, not a TikTok one, and it is the exception on this board rather than the rule — every other TikTok action is priced by the attention it costs the person performing it, which is why a save is 0.5× and a deep dive 3.5×.

Comments were priced at 3× on that same attention argument until the two comment exchanges became one product on two platforms, sharing a setup page, a flow and a summary. A point that bought five comments on Instagram and one on TikTok would have made that shared copy true on one platform and a lie on the other, so the rate moved rather than the copy.

To earn: engaging returns a point every 7 actions on the free tier, 6 on Pro and 5 on Max. The same ratios as the Instagram side, so a member who has used one understands the other.

A comment room opens at 7 ready creators and grants floor(0.75 × (N − 1)) — so a room at its minimum grants 4 per participant, not 6.

The two caps that apply only here

Comments carry a daily cap of their own — 15 per account per day, tighter than the 40 that applies across all actions. A person who writes forty considered comments in a day is rare enough to be a pattern.

There is also an action-mix ceiling: comments may account for no more than 8% of a video's views, with a floor of 2 so a video with almost no reach is not unmatchable. A video with a comment rate several times what its own audience produces is describing its own arrangement.

Both are on the safety-rails page with the configuration key that sets them.

What it will not do

It will not write the comment for you or for the person delivering it. The app suggests text and the person can take it, change it or ignore it, and comments that read as filler are rejected before they are ever offered.

It will not put a comment under a video from someone who has never seen it. Every comment is left by a person who opened the video in the TikTok app.

It will not manufacture an audience. Matched delivery is capped at 30% of the reach a video earned on its own, so the exchange cannot become the audience for a video that has none.

It will not promise you anything downstream of the comment. What a comment does to a video is between your content and the recommendation system.

Common questions

Is the TikTok comment exchange open?

Yes. It is the one of the four TikTok exchanges that has shipped. Connect and verify a TikTok account and you can use it.

Who writes the comments?

A real creator matched to your follower bracket and subject, by hand, in the TikTok app. Nothing is automated and nothing is posted on anyone's behalf.

How many comments can one account leave in a day?

At most 15, against a cap of 40 across all actions. Comments have the tighter of the two limits.

What if a comment never arrives?

Dispute it. Disputes carry screenshot proof, a right of reply and a human moderator, and the penalties run both ways — filing a false report costs the same as failing to deliver.
