For You feed eligibility
TikTok's published standard for whether a video may be recommended to people who do not already follow you.
Content that falls outside the standard stays live and stays on your profile, remains visible to your followers and can still be found through search. What stops is recommendation to new audiences — which for most accounts is where nearly all views come from.
The standards were published 14 August 2025 and took effect 13 September 2025. They are broader than the rules about what is allowed on the platform, so a video can break nothing and still be ineligible.
This is the state creators mean by "shadowban", documented under TikTok's own name for it.
